Times are changing…or perhaps just cycling back to a time that once was. Gardens and community gardens are bringing more people together. Edible (or vegetable) gardens in particular can spark a sense of unity and camaraderie for a neighborhood, while promoting physical activity and increasing access to fresh fruits and vegetables.

Residents in the Brentwood community of Northwest Jacksonville are excited about the start of a garden in their community. Working with the War on Poverty Florida, members of the Brentwood Community Council are embarking on a historic endeavor to bring neighbors of all ages together for a beneficial and healthy project.
